I’m going to let you know up front I’ve never
actually been to Thailand, BUT what I have done is research. A lot of it.
Thailand is on my Dream Draft mostly for the kick-ass full moon party they
throw but for various other reasons as well. Thailand is such a diverse place
that offers many things for all different kinds of travellers. From backpackers
off on an adventure or couples celebrating their honeymoon, to families
enjoying the beautiful sea and beaches. There is something for everyone to enjoy. Thailand is such a great place for a vacation that I
thought I would share with you some of the best kept secrets of this wonderful
destination. I am sure you will be off to book your ticket soon, and then maybe
we can go together?
The nightlife scene
Some would say you couldn’t head out to Thailand
without wanting to experience some of the crazy entertainment and nightlife
they offer. Most automatically think of Bangkok as the place to party but partying
in Pattaya is the next big thing. Once a small fishing village, it is now
dotted with high-rise hotels and a buzzing atmosphere. It should be on your hit
list if you are heading to Thailand for some awesome nightlife. There is also a
a great nightlife scene on some of Thailand's islands, most popular would be
the (drum roll please) full moon party that takes place on the beach. You have
your bucket filled with drinks, the stars as your witness, and a chance to make
some amazing memories.
The best food
If you consider yourself to be a bit of a foodie
(I enjoy eating food, does that count?), then Thai food should be high on your favorites.
From the glorious sweet and spicy Pad Thai down to the amazing curries, you’ll
find something that will become your new favorite dish each day. While in
Thailand, I think visitors should experience the street food available. You
will get to taste and sample different flavors of foods cooked right in front
of you. It’s a great experience and sight to see. Bangkok has a great
destination for this, but you will find street food sellers dotted around all
over.
The stunning beaches
Thinking about Thailand, your first thought may
be white sandy beaches. You won’t be too wrong either. Islands like Phuket and
Koh Samui have the most stunning beaches in the world. The bluest of the sea
and the glistening of white you can lose yourself in the wonder. If you love a
good beach, then make sure you try and visit one of the most famous, starring
in the Leonardo Dicaprio film The beach. You will find it in Maya Bay in Phi Phi.
The amazing sites
If sightseeing is more your thing, then Thailand
won’t disappoint. You could find the Hindu shrine of Phanom Rung in the Eastern
part of Thailand. Or the Khao Sok national park is a sight to see too as it is
considered by some as one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the world.
However, don’t forget to consider accommodation close by to some of the sites
you want to see. Places like JW
Marriott Khao Lak would be a great option to consider. Or island
hopping is a grand way to find some of the most unspoilt destinations on the
planet.
The chance for some
relaxation
Finally, if you don’t want the hustle and bustle
of Bangkok, then you will find the ultimate place to relax on many of the
islands. Some of the smaller ones are less commercialized, so just decide how
much relaxation you want. A book on a beach with a drink in my hand sounds like
a vacation to me.
I hope this has inspired you to visit Thailand soon, hell I might just cancel my trip to New York and go here instead. So many places to see and so little time!

But those who visit can take advantage of another highlight of the area by visiting Pak Klong Talat, the 24-hour fruit and flower market. http://eliburan.com/bangkok-erawan-shrine/ They are actually Grandfather and grandmother rocks.
