I hate it when I'm in a group and everyone is all into the same TV show and I'm sitting there without a clue of what the hell they are talking about. Well, recently, that same feeling has been arising with podcasts. Clearly, this is a bandwagon we all need to hop on because its all anyone is ever talking about. Here are a list and mini summaries of all of the popular podcasts millennials are listening to, because, well, it’s nice to have a clue what everyone is talking about.

The best part is, podcasts are free entertainment. They are ALL FREE.

Crime Related Podcasts

Seems like Crime related podcasts are the HOT topic currently so here are some of the fan-favorite crime podcasts.

My Favorite Murder with Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark

Genre: Comedy

First up because it’s all anyone is talking about! Lifelong fans of true crime stories Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark tell each other their favorite tales of murder and hear hometown crime stories from friends and fans. They do so in a comical manner so there is not too much seriousness here.

Dr. Death

Genre: Science and Medicine

My very first podcast I listened to! A podcast about the hospital system and how it has failed. DR. DEATH is a story about a charming surgeon, 33 patients, and a spineless system. This is the story of Christopher Duntsch who was a neurosurgeon that radiated confidence. He claimed he was the best in Dallas. If you had back pain and had tried everything else, Dr. Duntsch could give you the spine surgery that would take your pain away. But soon his patients started to experience complications, and the system failed to protect them. Which begs the question: who - or what - is that system meant to protect?

Dirty John

If you like trash TV, this drama series has just the right amount of drama and cringe to be binge-worthy. Debra Newell is a successful interior designer who met John Meehan, a handsome man who seemed to check all the boxes: attentive, available, just back from a year in Iraq with Doctors Without Borders. But her family doesn’t like John, and they get entangled in an increasingly complex web of love, deception, forgiveness, denial, and ultimately, survival.

Genre: History 

Fact is scarier than fiction. Told by an anonymous male with an Australian accent, this series deals with solved or cold criminal cases, often related to well-known murders and serial crimes. Each case is about 1-3 episodes long so you can binge or listen one car ride at a time.
