New year, new you . . . right?
That can be a little overwhelming, so let’s start with one
thing. Give your makeup a fresh start! There are so many collections out there that everyone is reviewing and sharing. I'm here for it but I want to talk about a particular collection that has intrigued me and might still be considered "off the grid" as I have not seen any other reviews on this collection.
Allow me to introduce to you The Hunger Games Cosmetic Collection

Cosmetics, this super glittery and girl-on-fire-esque collection was
specifically created for The Hunger Games: The Exhibition. Pssst, there is one
here in Las Vegas you can check out with the whole family. Join the rebellion
with a fresh new look with these face lighting and confidence-boosting colors.
I played around a bit with all of the makeup pieces and tried to really channel my inner Effie and Capitol look. Not sure if I nailed the look, but I definitely love the vibrancy of all of these products. Most of them have dual uses too which I explain a little further down.
All products are cruelty-free formulas developed and
manufactured in Los Angeles!
This line features two collections: The Capitol collection and Girl on Fire collection.

Capitol Couture – The Dazzling Eyeshadow Palette and the Girl on Fire – The Classic Eyeshadow Palette
Let's talk eye shadow. Instantly I was obsessed with the
Girl on Fire palette, but after playing around, for a bolder look, The Capitol palette really turned out to be more practical than I originally thought. Each
palette offers high impact shadows. The Girl on fire tends to have more subtle
nude and gold tones whereas The Capital has ultra-matte colors. These shades
are perfect for creating dazzling eye-catching looks. After all, new year, new
you, right?
All of these operate as eye shadows, however, I found a few
of them to have dual uses.
Tigres from The Girl on Fire Collection doubles as a bronzer
and adds depth with an earthy brown shade.
Effie in The Capital palette is an ultra-smooth matte pink
shade that is sure to put the odds at your favor while doubling as a vibrant
blush color! Along that same pallette is Bubbly, which if champagne were made
into a shadow this would be it. Bubbly doubles as an awesome highlight that
will glisten every time you move.
Luminous Liquid Glitter Liner
What pairs better with an eyeshadow palette than some funky, glittery eyeliner. The first thing I was drawn to was the Silver Glitter (Victor) and blue glitter (Finnick) eyeliners. Both are part of the capitol collection. Glitter eyeliner is such an easy way to amp up any smokey eye or simple look. This is a quick-drying and long-lasting formula that got Katniss through all of her Mockingjay adventures.
The Capitol Collection:
Victor - Silver Glitter. An eyeliner fit for a champion.
This liner actually has some pigment in with the glitter creating a striking
white/silver look
Finnick - Blue Glitter. There are some blue hues and blue
glitter mixed in giving it a super vibrant look.
Claudius - Purple Glitter. It comes off as more of a pink
glitter eyeliner with bigger glitter specs.
The Girl on Fire Collection:
Embers - Bronze Glitter. A very subtle glitter. It just
provides a slight shimmer.
Cinna - Gold Glitter. In true Cinna fashion, bright shiny
gold specs to dominate your look.
Coal - (You guessed it) Black Glitter. District 12's finest
ingredient blended into a black smokey glittery eyeliner. Fine glitter lines
this tube.
Velvet Liquid Lipstick
Honestly, this is the type of lipgloss you could take to the
Hunger Games, walk out a victor and not get it anywhere! No wonder Effies lips
were always so flawless. These liquid lipglosses stay put! They replicate a lip
stain of sorts. I wore mine for Christmas and New Year's Eve and never had to
reapply once. It is a soft couture formulated lippie that operates like a lip stain.
It is highly pigmented and weightless.
The Capitol Collection:
Capitol - Mauve. A very bright and captivating deep pink
that is Effie approved.
Girl on Fire - Red with gold glitter almost making it
red-orange and great with The Girl on Fire eyeshadow palette
The Girl on Fire Collection:
Katniss - Matte Nude Pink
Primrose - Matte Nude
These two colors look similar side by side but when applying,
the pink tones of the Katniss gloss really come out.
3D Faux Mink Lashes
I would say save the drama for President Snow but the drama
is right here in these lashes! I've saved these for last because I was so
excited about these. I don't wear lashes often, but when I do, they are so full
it looks like velvet on my eyelids. I love it.
The Effie lashes have been my favorite so far because they
are the perfect amount of drama but if you're looking for a lash look that will
break necks, I recommend the Flavius 3D Faux Mink Lashes. By far the thickest
and sturdiest lashes I've ever used.
I used the Kiss Striplash Adhesive with Aloe (black) to
apply mine and they stood strong all night. They were also very easy to apply
because of their structure staying in place.
At first glance, I am drawn to the Capitol collection
packaging. It's very classy looking, but after diving deeper into the products
I really enjoy the Girl on Fire collection for everyday use and wear with a
