Vacation and Education Rhyme For A Reason And This Is It

Wednesday, March 14, 2018

You know in college when you would cram for midterms and remember what you needed to remember to pass the test but forgot it the minute the test was over? That's not learning. That's surviving. When you’re learning something new, your brain goes into a unique state, making it much easier to keep information and memories fresh. This is great for helping you to soak up the information you're receiving and it also has some very big benefits elsewhere in your education. Giving you the chance to better capture memories of the whole event, learning can be a great tool to use when you’re trying to keep a vacation fresh in your mind. But, what exactly can you do while you’re away which will count as learning?

Sports: All over the world, sports are one of the most popular pastimes of all time, and a lot of people love to get involved with activities which push them harder than ever before. Not me, but a lot of others do. Around the world, there are loads of different sports which have become popular over the years. When you visit a place, you have the chance to experience their traditional activities in the way that they were designed to be played. Football is actually soccer in other countries because that was the original name it was given. Americans put a twist on it and called the sport they play with their hands football. Traveling is a great way to learn about a different sport, especially if you’ve never had the chance to play it before. Just remember to bring your sportsmanship. No one likes a sore loser.

History: Over the centuries, the world has been greatly shaped by the work of people. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Countries and kingdoms have risen and fallen, and loads of interesting events will have lead up to it. This has created a rich array of history around the world, with different tales wherever you go, and loads of great resources to help you learn about it. Museums will be a great place to start. Always visit a museum when traveling. They're full of history and usually free. Cha-Ching!

Wildlife: It’s no secret that the environment isn’t in the best shape. Knowing how to do your part isn’t always easy, though, and a lot of people find it hard to connect the things they do at home to the animals most impacted by it. Wildlife courses can be found across the world, with options including Lion conservation and deforestation being some of the most popular out there. While this information may not be usable at home, it could spark a career which sees you changing the world for the better.

The Unusual: Most people don’t go on vacation to have a generic trip which they won’t remember when they get home. Instead, when you’re working towards a vacation education, you should be hunting for the unusual wherever you can. Scuba diving, car racing, and loads of other whacky activities can be found around the world. Even if all you’re learning is that you love to get your heart pumping, it will be worth giving it a try to see if it boosts your memory.

Hopefully, with all of this in mind, it should start to get a lot easier to manage the learning you can do on your next vacation. Inspiration and motivation can be found at every corner of the globe. Soak up your experiences to the fullest extent because then you can brag about them in vivid detail once you get back home. HA!
